reviewing the ZAP Members Exhibition 2013
**Please join us for the closing of the show and for a ZAP Picnic at Deptford Green on Saturday 12 July, 5-7pm. All welcome. Please meet us at Bond House at 4.45pm (bring a bottle and picnic bits).
"The Zeitgeist Summer Exhibition is an exhibition specially created and curated for our artist membership body. ZAP members are the fundamental backbone to all that ZAP does and this is our way of thanking them for supporting us by inviting them all to be part of an annual exhibition.
"At ZAP we take great pride in the fact that the resulting exhibition comprises great diversity - as both membership and the exhibition are non-hierarchical and open to all - and therefore features work from artists at all stages of their careers from new graduate to established artists (who also teach at ZAP). We do not believe there is just one way to be an artist and this is a show that celebrates an array of artists and artworks.
"Through the exhibition our aims are also to raise the profile of our ZAP members through associated press; have the opportunity to see members' works as curators ourselves; be a hub space in which artists can connect with and expand their networks; and, crucially, to give the members an exhibition to work towards and be proud of. A final aim of the exhibition is affordability. Therefore we set a price limit on works to motivate people to start collecting original art. And also importantly to try and create sales for our artist members."
